Depending on the setting apprentices are employed in, job roles covered by this framework can be seasonal especially in caravan and holiday parks.

Course programme

In order to achieve a full Apprenticeship you must successfully complete the different parts of the framework over 12 to 15 months. This consists of sector related industry qualifications Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being Operational Services Mandatory Support the work of the team and organisation Promote health, safety and welfare in active leisure and recreation Support equality and diversity in active leisure and recreation Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation The Optional units are chosen by the employer to reflect your job role Optional Equipment Set up, take down and store activity equipment Check and service activity equipment Site caravans on parks Facilities Clean and tidy facility areas Deal with substances hazardous to health Operate plant to maintain the quality of pool water Operate plant to provide and maintain an ice surface Carry out maintenance and minor repairs Prepare hard standings and paths for caravans Use and maintain pedestrian controlled powered equipment Use and maintain ride-on powered equipment Use and maintain chippers and/or shredders Use and maintain non-powered and hand held powered tools and equipment Maintain grounds of premises and facilities Monitor and maintain electrical and plumbing services Maintain site security and safety Check and maintain sport/play surfaces and equipment Contribute to environmental conservation in active leisure and recreation Customer Care Maintain the safety of the pool environment and its users Maintain the safety of the ice rink environment and its users Process payments for purchases Provide a facility reception service Resolve customer service problems Team Leading Support other team members in their work Level 2 Certificate in Leisure Operations Understanding the Active Leisure and Learning Sector Understanding Employment Rights and Responsibilities Customer Care and Diversity in Active Leisure Health, Safety, Security and Welfare in Active Leisure Developing Self in an Active Leisure Job Role Cleaning in Active Leisure Handling and Maintaining Equipment in Active Leisure Teamwork in Active Leisure Emergency First Aid Skills Functional Skills qualifications: Level 1 Functional Skill in English Level 1 Functional Skill in Maths + Employment Rights and Responsibilities + Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to work for a real employer, earn a real salary and gain a real qualification whilst gaining valuable workplace skills and experience.
