Course Aims:
To prepare people to enter the bricklaying profession
Course Content:
The course will cover units in:
- Safe working practices in construction
- Information, quantities and communicating with others
- Building methods and construction technology
- Basic blocklaying skills
- Basic bricklaying skills
- Basic cavity walling
- Contribute to setting out and building basic masonry structures up to damp course level
In addition students will cover units in Personal and Social Development, together with functional skills in Maths, English and ICT

Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying

Exam:
Achievement of each unit is by internal testing. Each knowledge units also has a mandatory series of questions produced by the awarding body CAA.
Practical assignment set by CAA
An online test covering the core units and the occupational units must be passed in order to achieve the qualification.
