Level 1 Diploma in Hairdressing

You will be taught by industry professionals and you will be based in College's fully equipped commercial salon, The Lounge. You will learn the theory behind the practices you explore and you will be provided with the confidence needed to launch your career in Hairdressing.

During this course, you will cover the following units:

• Introduction to the hair and beauty sector
• Presenting a professional image in a salon
• The art of dressing hair
• Health and safety in the salon
• Working with others in the hair and beauty sector
• Create a hair and beauty image
• Colour hair using temporary colour
• Salon reception duties
• Create and maintain retail displays in the salon
• Shampoo and conditioning
• Styling women's hair
• Styling men's hair
• Hair plaiting

Work experience within a commercial salon and tutorials will also form part of this course.
