The exact nature of your job role as an apprentice will depend on your employer. The Intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship is for those working under supervision such as a nursery assistant or playgroup assistant working with children under five or an assistant play worker in and out of school setting.

About this course
The majority of work will be completed in the workplace. Attendance is required at College one evening a week and additional attendance is required to complete Functional Skills. Dates and times will be confirmed on entry to the Apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship:
You will achieve the Certificate in Children & Young People's Workforce; Functional Skills Level 1 in English, Maths and ICT;
You will also gain a paediatric/childcare first aid qualification;
Employer Responsibilities and Rights in Health, Social Care or Children and Young People's Settings (Level2).
Upon completion of all of these elements you will also receive the Apprenticeship Framework Certificate.
You will learn through a mix of work-related activities and independent study and research. Assessment is on a continuous basis with a number of assessments in each module. Assessments take a variety of forms, such as written reports, witness statements, observations and professional discussions.
