Suitable for: Practicing electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update training before going on to achieve the City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installation (2391-10). The course has been developed in conjunction with the electrical industry to meet the needs of the industry and centres and to provide the candidates with an introduction in how to inspect and test (conduct the initial verification) electrical installations.

  • 1 multiple-choice on-line test and
  • Practical assessment

Course Content

The learning outcomes are:

  • Preparation for initial inspection and testing
  • Inspection
  • Testing
  • Completion of the Schedule of Test Results, Schedule of Inspection and Electrical Installation Certificate

Course Duration

The duration for the course is as follows:

  • 4 days comprehensive
  • 1 evening a week for 10 weeks

Course Aims

The aims of the course are to:

  • Meet the needs of candidates who work or want to work as electricians in the electro-technical sector
  • Allow candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the electro-technical sector
  • Meet the needs of those working in allied trades who are a result of their primary activity undertake some electrical installation work
  • Aid progression to enable the undertaking of the relative City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installation (2391-10)
