Level 2 Certificate in Professional Taxi & Private Hire Driver (Edexcel)

The aim of the qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of individuals who are seeking to be employed in providing a service to the community. Some Local Licensing Authorities require the qualification prior to issuing a Hackney or Private Hire Driver Licence This qualification is based on current best practice needed to be a modern taxi / private hire driver. As well as covering the core functions of a driver this Btec also focuses on vital skills needed to be able to offer a professional service such as communication, wheelchair accessibility and customer service. To achieve a full Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver (QCF) Candidates must complete the following units: - 1 Health and safety in the taxi and private hire work environment 2 Road safety when driving passengers in a taxi or private hire vehicle 3 Professional customer service in the taxi and private hire industry 4 Taxi and private hire vehicle maintenance and safety inspections 5 The regulatory framework of the taxi and private hire industry 6 Taxi and private hire services for passengers who require assistance 7 Routes and fares in the taxi and private hire vehicle Industries 8 Transporting of parcels, luggage and other items in the taxi and private hire industries 9 Transporting of children and young persons by taxi or private hire vehicle This is a taught qualification in the College, following training sessions there are a series of on-line tests which need to be undertaken and an observed element.The course is run over six evening sessions and requires all candidates to attend Eastleigh College to complete training. There are a set of online tests to complete.
