Course programme

Overview

The QCF Level 2 Certificate for working in the Health Sector is a nationally recognised qualification based on the Health and Social Care National Occupation Standards approved by Skills for Care & Development. The qualification aims to give learners the opportunity to investigate a work role in the health sector and provide the underpinning knowledge needed to work effectively.

Outline of Program

Each unit within the Certificate has a credit rating and to achieve the QCF Level 2 Certificate for working in the Health Sector learners must complete 6 mandatory units equalling an overall 13 credits. These credits can then be transferred across to the levels 2 and 3 diploma in Health and Social Care as long as these are started within 2 years of finishing the level 2 certificate. This course is an excellent opportunity for people to start their carer in care and gain the knowledge and some understanding of the environment and procedures.

Assessment:

Assessment takes place through evaluation of work based on the mandatory units, presenting evidence, acquired prior learning and questioning. A portfolio of evidence is produced which demonstrates that the candidate can understand to the level described. Participants will all have a vocationally competent QCF Diploma assessor who will help assemble the portfolio and prepare for assessment. In addition the candidates will have access to email and telephone support throughout their QCF Diploma programme together with resources as required.
