The Core Stabilisation 2-day course is designed to ensure you not only cover the practical elements but is supported by a full manual to cover the theory behind core workout sessions.
There is a practical assessment associated with the course gives the instructor the opportunity to practice and develop a range of core stability exercises and alternative progressions and regressions.

Course programme

On completion of the 2-day course the instructor should be able to:



•Define core stabilisation in simple terms.
•Explain the role of ‘stabilser’ and ‘mobiliser’ muscles.
•Briefly explain the debate relating to mechanisms of stabilisation.
•Briefly explain the theory of neutral spine.
•Carry out practical methods of contracting transversus abdominis.
•Carry out a range of floor and ball core stability exercises.
•Assess core stabilisation ability.
•Demonstrate the ability to teach stabilisation exercises safely

Practical examination

There is a practical assessment associated with the workshop however, the practical sessions throughout the course give the instructor the opportunity to practice and develop a range of core stability exercises and alternative progressions and regressions.

Instructors are encouraged to participate in all theory and practical sessions, however, if any individuals are not able to participate due to injury, they are still encouraged to attend as they will be able to participate in an observing role.
