Level 2 Diploma (NVQ) Beauty Therapy (VTCT)

The following units are covered: -Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety -Provide facial skin care treatment -Provide pedicure services -Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes -Carry out waxing services -Develop and maintain effectiveness at work -Promote additional services or products to customers -Provide manicure services -Provide make-up services -Fulfil salon reception duties You will also learn how to sell beauty treatments and products and advise clients on skin care. We will help you develop reception and customer service skills, as in the industry you will need to be able to make appointments, handle queries and sell a range of products. This is the NVQ 2 Beauty Therapy (General pathway), which is an internationally recognised qualification within the beauty industry. Your theory and practical work will be continually assessed throughout the course. A portfolio will be built up containing assignments, workbooks, practical work, mandatory exams and workbooks. The course is a careful balance of theory and practical work. You will be able to gain extra experience in the College salon and reception area. An insight into the career prospects of beauty therapy can be gained when we visit the industrys largest Beauty Exhibition in London, as well as having visiting speakers from product companies.Your theory and practical work will be continually assessed throughout the course. A portfolio will be built up containing assignments, workbooks, practical work, mandatory exams and workbooks. Your lessons will either be over two evenings a week, or two days, depending on your enrolment choice.
