Y/602/2888 - Understand and apply domestic central heating system installation and maintenance techniques.

F/602/2917 - Understand and apply domestic rainwater system installation and maintenance techniques.

About this course

There will be numerous practical assessments including:-

Health & Safety.

Pipe Work Fabrication (Copper, Steel and Plastic).

Pipe Work Fabrication (Plastic Waste Pipe).

Installation of radiators and associated pipe work.

Installation of Sanitary Ware and associated pipe work.

Installation of Hot Water Cylinder and Cold Water Cistern (Airing Cupboard).

Installation of full bathroom suite and Central Heating System.

Installation of Rain Water Guttering System.

Electrical Safe Isolation and Earth Bonding Requirements.

Theory modules will be all those included in the student course workbooks, along with student self-assessments and tutor marked assignments.

There are also 10 online multiple choice examinations to complete with this qualification.

This qualification is aimed at new entrants wanting to get into the industry. The course is designed to give you the fundamental knowledge & skill set to becoming a professional plumber. This course is also popular with existing workers wishing to gain recognised qualifications.

There are no set requirements for this course which is open to both male and female candidates aged 16 years or above.
