Course programme
The course includes the following aspects:
Employability
You will develop your employability skills, helping you to secure employment in the future. This will include workshops in: CV writing, searching for jobs, applying for jobs, interview skills and career progression. You will also receive advice and guidance on future study and employment routes.
Enterprise
You will develop your knowledge and understanding of enterprise by studying existing enterprises and identifying the skills behind their success. You will then develop your enterprise skills through organising and running your own enterprising activity, working in groups to develop your teamwork ability. This will also include working on a major live project with the College.
Work Experience
You will undertake an external placement during the course, either in the voluntary sector or as a work placement in your chosen vocational area.
Tutorial and Enrichment
You will have weekly lessons with your tutor and access to the College enrichment programme.
English and Maths
If you have not yet achieved a C at GCSE you will have classes in English and Maths each week. What you will get from this course The course is delivered through a mixture of classroom based activities and online assignments. It will include participating in external projects and visits during the course. You will also spend time in external organisations during your work placements. Upon successfully completing this course you can progress to further study at Leeds City College in your chosen vocational area, at Level 2 or 3.
