Course Content

Those who want to learn basic hairdressing skills and experience through working in a realistic salon environment. This is a highly practical qualification providing the skills and knowledge required to work in the industry.

Students are expected to attend college three to four days a week from September until the end of June. This may involve being in college until 8.30pm one evening per week or a Saturday.

You will have one hour tutorial once a week and two hours E Learning per week.

Students who did not achieve a grade C GCSE in English Language and maths will study and re-sit these qualifications.

You will also have the opportunity to be involved in competitions and additional industry related workshops.

• Health & safety in the salon

• Working in hairdressing

• Client consultation

• Promoting products

• Shampooing and conditioning

• Drying and styling

• Cutting

• Colouring

• Cutting men’s hair

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs grade D or above to include D in English and E in Mathematics
