Level 2 NVQ in Childrens Care, Learning & Development(2010/2011)
Study Method:
Students will be required to attend one evening per week for 18 weeks
Duration :18 weeks but up to one year to complete your portfolio.
Who the Course is For:
This programme is designed for people working within a childcare setting with children aged 0-16 years of age. You may be employed as a nursery assistant, crche worker, special educational needs assistant or other childcare roles where you are working under supervision.

Assessment:
You will prodce a portfolio of evidence of tasks you underake.
You will also be observed/assessed in your practical work and this forms some of your evidence.
Course Leads To:
NVQ Level 3 in Childrens Care, Learning and Development if you progress to a senior/supervisory position at work.
Entry Requirements:
You must be employed in a childcare setting, as you will be allocated an assessor who will assess you carrying out tasks in your workplace. You will also be required to complete a literacy test and a skills audit.
Content:
There are 6 mandatory units and 1 optional unit. Mandatory units are:
CCLD 201 Contribute to positive relationships
CCLD 202 Help to keep children safe
CCLD 203 Support children-s development
CCLD 204 Use support to develop own practice in children-s care, learning and development
CCLD 205 Prepare and maintain environments to meet children-s needs
CCLD 206 Support children-s play and learning
