What’s in the ILM Level 2 S/NVQ in Team Leading?

The ILM Level 2 S/NVQ in Team Leadingis designed for team leaders who are primarily concerned with motivating their team members and achieving agreed outputs, with limited authority for deploying resources. Flexibility is achieved through optional units which complement the four mandatory units designed to develop the core competences needed by today's team leaders.

Candidates are required to take six units: four mandatory units plus two from a choice of the five optional units.

A1 Manage your own resources

B5 Provide Leadership for your team

D1 Develop productive working relationships with colleagues

E5 Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety

Optional Units (select two)

C1 Encourage innovation in your team

D5 Allocate and check work in your team

D7 Provide learning opportunities for colleagues

F5 Resolve customer service problems

F7 Support customer service improvements

Progression

Candidates can progress onto:

ILM Level 3 S/NVQ in Management; S/NVQ in Personnel Support; or NVQ in Volunteer Management
ILM Level 3 Certificate or Introductory Certificate in First Line Management
ILM Level 3 Award or Certificate in Leadership
ILM Level 3 Certificate in Coaching for Team Leaders and First Line Managers.

Candidates who achieve the ILM Level 2 S/NVQ in Team Leading will be eligible to apply for ILM Associate Membership (AMInstLM).
