Length of Course
One year AS/two year AGCE.
What will I study?
You will develop skills and knowledge needed for professional accounting qualifications giving you the opportunity to produce and understand your own set of accounts. The course also includes visits where you will witness businesses and their finances in operation. Recent visits have included Alton Towers and the London Metal Exchange. You will also be given the opportunity to attend accounting summer schools at Kaplan Financial college and take part in business games with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Method of assessment
100% exam.
What qualifications do I need to study on this course?
A great deal of determination, at least 5 grade Cs at GCSE or equivalent and at least a grade B in GCSE Mathematics.
What will I be able to progress to?
Several of our students each year enter the profession through a range of pathways usually beginning with the Association of Accounting Technicians before building up on the job experience and becoming chartered accountants. You could also follow the more traditional route - studying at University for an accountancy related degree many of which include work experience at various accountancy firms.
