Course programme

An Apprenticeship is a national work based training programme designed for individual industries. Apprenticeships are a great way of earning and learning at the same time.
The Apprenticeship scheme is divided into two levels – Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship. The level of Apprenticeship you undertake will depend on previous experience, ability and the job role you’re working in
Electrical Installation Apprentices will attend Highbury Northarbour Centre 1 day per week to undertake the College based section of the training. The rest of the time will be spent learning on the job with the employer. Apprentices will build a portfolio of work and have on-site visits to observe their ability and skills in their daily role.

How long will the Apprenticeship take?
This depends on your motivation and the support of your employer. The Advanced Apprenticeship takes approximately 3-4 years to complete.
You will be studying towards an NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services. The course provides the basic knowledge and understanding of Electrotechnical Services practice, which will enable the Apprentice to become a qualified Electrician.
