This course covers arboricultural pruning operations off ground, in trees. Carrying out reductions, crown-lifting, re-pollarding, thinning and crown cleaning.

Note: The course is aimed at those with significant experience of arboriculture operations and chainsaw operations in a canopy.

What are the entry requirements?

Minimum qualifications: Full level 2

Candidates must already have certification in the following: 

NPTC unit 201 Carry out maintenance of chainsaw and cutting system
NPTC unit 2 0 2 Cross-cut timber using a chainsaw
NPTC unit 2 0 3 Fell and process trees up to 380mm
NPTC unit 2 0 6 Access a tree using a rope and harness
NPTC unit 3 0 6 Carry out aerial rescue operations
NPTC unit 3 0 8 Carry out aerial cutting of trees with a chainsaw using free-fall techniques
