AS/AGCE FILM STUDIES

If you love films and want to develop your understanding and appreciation of them, this is the course for you. You will focus on how films create meaning and how audiences understand them. You will also get the opportunity to carry out case studies on various actors, directors and genres and produce a practical piece of film based on your studies.

One year AS / two year AGCE

What qualifications do I need to study on the course?
Five grade C's or above at GCSE.

What will I study?
In your first year you will examine how films are constructed and you will be given the opportunity to produce your own screenplay or storyboard.

Method of assessment
You will be assessed through practical work, coursework and examination.

What will I be able to progress to?
This subject can lead to a wide range of degree programmes in film studies, media studies, scriptwriting, film and television production or any other humanities-based degree.
