This course covers the biology of a range of organisms, both plant and animal, with a heavy bias towards humans and human activity.

The year one (AS) course is split into five topics: Lifestyle, Health and Risk; Cystic Fibrosis; The Voice of the Genome - considering the development from a single egg into a complex multi-cellular organism; Climate Change; and Can't Run, Can't Hide - looking at novel uses of plants and genetic modification.

Assessment includes coursework components - one of which is a 1,500-word written report of an issue or visit.

The year two (A2) course is split into four topics: On the Wild Side - species, ecology and evolution; Infection, Immunity and Forensics; Run for Your Life - the physiology of exercise; and Grey Matter - nervous system and learning.
