AS/A2 Level - Two year course
Studying this course at SEEVIC College means joining an enthusiastic group of fellow students to study the theory and practice of dance. Alongside visits to a variety of live performances, students will learn how to understand and analyse the components that form a dance work. Theory sessions follow the development of dance as an art form.

In the studio, as well as taking classes in ballet, jazz and contemporary dance, students will study practical anatomy in relation to dance training. Key elements of the course include studying choreographic and performance skills complemented by a thorough grounding in the appreciation and analysis of dance works.

Dance is examined practically through solo and group choreography projects, performance in a duet or trio and in a solo based on the work of a chosen practitioner. It is also examined theoretically in two written papers.

Careers and Further Studies
This course can lead to a range of Higher Education dance-performance or teaching degree courses and vocational full-time dance training at accredited schools. Career choices include working as a performer or choreographer, a project manager, or working in a specialised field such as dance and disability.

General Entry Requirements
Students will need the following:
1. An average GCSE points score of 4.7 calculated from your eight best GCSEs or equivalent vocational qualifications but must include GCSE Maths and English Language.
2. At least five GCSEs at grade C or above which must include GCSE English Language.
