Level 3 Award in Education and Training

It is an essential first step towards practitioner status - a license to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (England)

The qualification aims to: Allow learners to learn the knowledge and skills required to enter teaching To provide skills at Level 3 in the National Qualification Framework for those wishing to pursue a career in teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector To provide opportunities for staff in the Complementary Therapy industry to gain a Level 3 qualification to enter the teaching profession
The course covers the following areas: The roles and responsibilities of teachers in lifelong learning Understanding inclusive learning and teaching in lifelong learning Teaching and learning in your specialist area Using inclusive learning and teaching approaches in lifelong learning Principles of assessment in lifelong learning The qualification would be suitable for: Experienced therapists wishing to progress to teaching therapy skills to adults Those with experience of teaching adults that do not currently hold a formal qualification Students training to become therapists who wish to combine their studies and obtain a teaching qualification to enable them to teach adults in an addition to their therapy work
Opportunities for progression: Once the Level 3 Award in Education and Training has been achieved, you may wish to progress to: Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training which leads to; Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training) Qualification gained: Level 3 Award in Education and Training Credit Value: 12 Guided Learning Hours for the qualification: 48 hours Assessment: There is no exam for this qualification
You will asked to keep a portfolio of evidence, including coursework assignments, reflective journal entries and deliver a 20 minute teaching session to the rest of the group
Entry Requirements: All applicants will be required to complete a short application form and will be interviewed prior to commencement of the course
Applicants must also meet the following requirement: English/Literacy GCSE Grade A* - C/Level 2 equivalent
Qualification or experience in the subject area you intend to teach
It is strongly recommended that you have or are working towards achieving Mathematics/Numeracy GCSE Grade A*-C/Level 2 equivalent
