  • The course content was well delivered, easy to understand and fitted very well into the given four days. Although there was a lot of information to take on board, I felt relaxed, and confident about this style of learning. It also gave me the perception of what it would be like to be a trainee, how there are different teaching techniques and learning styles. There were sufficient breaks, and enough refreshments were also provided, perhaps not the first thing one might think of, but people do find this an important factor when in a learning situation, helping to make everyone feel at ease and encourage student participation from the outset, getting students to agree times etc. for breaks and lunches.

What I would highlight: The course content was well delivered, easy to understand and fitted very well into the given four days. What could be improved: On the minus side, there was quite a lot of work to do at home in the evenings, this was achievable, but was something that other students I was with and myself included, would have preferred not to have to do, perhaps the course could be over five days to compensate for this. This is a difficult one, as people also normally would be at work and I know that the length of the course and how many days people may have to be away from their workplace was factored in when deciding on the length of the course, in trying to get a 'happy medium'.

Understanding assessment in education and training (3)

Upon successful completion, you will receive a Level 3 Award in Education and Training, recognised on the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF), awarded by Highfield ABC.
