QUALIFICATION PURPOSE

The TQUK Level 3 Award in English for Literacy and Language Teaching (QCF) aims to develop learners’ understanding of the English language and develop their skills in speaking and listening, reading and writing English. The purpose is to be able to apply these skills in the teaching of literacy and language.

The qualification prepares learners to progress to further English qualifications at a higher level, or to qualifications in other subject areas, particularly those where good English skills are required. The qualification was been identified by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) as appropriate to develop knowledge and skills to support the teaching of Functional Skills English.
