The course consists of a diverse range of skills and techniques that are delivered through an intense timetable of masterclasses, practical demonstrations and student led sessions that allow the student to build a wide range of fashion based practice. All briefs are delivered by industry professionals with lectures delivered by working practioners and designers.
Students will explore research technique and contextual study, methods and techniques for illustration and fashion design, pattern cutting and construction, applied decoration and garment manufacture. Projects delivered during 2014 included Denim, corsetry and Chinese evening wear.
Students attend London exhibitions and Graduate Fashion Week to allow them to consider University progression and take part in fashion shows and Southsea Fashion Week to showcase their work to the public and industry.

About this course
You will attend full-time for one year, commencing in September. You can expect to be in lessons approximately 3 days per week, plus any additional subjects you may wish to study.

You will gain an Edexcel (BTEC) Level 3 Diploma in Art and Design (Fashion and Clothing)
You will be assessed in a variety of ways; one to one assessments with your tutors, in group presentations and by your peers. Assignments are written to allow you to build on previous learning and improve your grades allowing you to demonstrate the variety of skills you have acquired.
Your participation in the end of year fashion show and Southsea Fashion Week will allow you to be assessed on a real life project in a public showcase
