Activities have included visits to Portsmouth and Southampton Universities, local laboratories and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) for South Central Ambulance Service. The timetable allows plenty of time to complete your assessments and approximately seven hours per week will need to be put aside for independent study to complete assignments. The College Learning Centre will be available during non-timetabled days so you can study at home or at college. Learners must be available to come into College during the week if it is required for a specific activity or if requested by a member of staff to complete work. Personnel who are currently working in the forensics and medical fields will visit during the course of the year (subject to availability) to give an insight into their work. They have previously provided presentations on a day in the life of a Paramedic, Genetics and Genetic Engineering, Diseases and Infections and Aspects of Clinical Psychology. Year One students will be interviewed to determine suitability for Year Two progression.
