Level 3 BTEC National Diploma Performing Arts

BTEC NATIONAL DIPLOMA PERFORMING ARTS
This practical course is equivalent to three A-levels and is great preparation for university/ performance school and a career in the entertainment industry. You will complete a major performance project and a collection of diverse units from performance workshops to the historical context of performance. There are also optional units covering dance, drama and musical theatre.

Two years

What qualifications do I need to study on the course?
A minimum of 4 Cs at GCSE. Acceptance on to this course is dependent on a successful audition.

What will I study?
This course will give you the experience, knowledge, understanding and skills across a range of topics that concern performance professionals including:
· Rehearsing for Performance
· Performing to an audience
· The Performing Arts Business
· The historical context of performance

Method of assessment
There are no written examinations. Assessment may take place via an essay, presentation, workshop, rehearsal or performance.

What will I be able to progress to?
This subject qualifies for UCAS points so you could go on to study a degree or HND in Performing Arts. You could also go in to other forms of vocational training or in to relevant employment.
