Suitable for: People who like to work with children and who have a caring attitude. The course allows you to become a nursery nurse, to becoming a nursery manager with an earning potential of £28K. It is mainly suited for those wanting to become a nuresry nurse, manager or supervisor in day nurseries, nursery schools and nurseries or reception classes based in primary schools, children centres manager, or registered childminders or nannies.

About this course
This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas and is spilt into two pathways:
Social Care
Learning and Development Support Services
Anyone who works or wants to work at a supervisory level in the children and young people’s workforce.
Must have English and Maths GCSE (A-C) grade
Must have good reading and writing skills
Must be able to use a computer

Course review:
This course is ideal for any individual who wants to work in the children and young people’s workforce. The course develops the wide-ranging knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth up to 19 years. Covering a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas - including those in social care settings - it offers a wealth of career opportunities. On completion learners will be able to work unsupervised as nursery nurses with children and young people or as managers in an Early Years Setting. It is a must-have for all practitioners delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage. There are 11 mandatory units and 5 optional units to complete in this qualification.
Mandatory Units:
- Communication in health, social care or children's and young people's settings
- Engage in personal development in health, social care or children's and young people's settings
- Equality and inclusion in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings
- Principles for implementing duty of care in health, social care or children's and young people's settings
- Understand child and young person development

Additional information
Every learner will have to have about 400 hours work experience placement throughout the duration of the course (minimum 16 hours of placement a week)

- Interpretation of knowledge from direct observation of practice in the workplace
