Outcomes:

• To enable candidates to design and agree a safe and effective programme for clients with a range of common referral conditions
  
• To enable candidates to deliver, review and adapt a programme for clients with a range of common referral conditions
  
• Comprehensive evidence based guidelines for the safe and effective exercise prescription for 14 different common referral conditions including:
  
  Development of CHD, Hypertension, Peripheral Arterial Disease, Arthritis, Obesity, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Back Pain, Joint Replacement, Asthma and Chronic Lung Disease, Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Common Mental Health problems
• Clinically led guidance of the different medical conditions and reasons for referring back to the healthcare professional.

Course Structure and Assessment:

The course is delivered via tutor supported distance learning and the attendance of three workshop days and one assessment day on two consecutive weekends.
