LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE IN ELECTROTECHNICAL TECHNOLOGY Entry Requirements
An interview is required.

Candidates must have achieved level 2 technical certificate and must be employed within the industry.
Description
This award is the technical certificate which underpins the NVQ level 3 in Electrotechnical Technology. Candidates will attend college one day per week for 1 year to gain the necessary technical knowledge to pass the course and to prove their practical competence.

To fully achieve the NVQ level 3, candidates must be observed demonstrating their skills and knowledge on-site and complete two site diaries.
Course Content
For the award of a certificate, candidates must successfully complete the assessments for
Unit 1 - Application of Health and Safety and Electrical Principles
Unit 2 - Installation (Buildings and Structures), Inspection, Testing and Commissioning
Unit 3 - Installation (Buildings and Structures), Fault diagnosis and Rectification

NVQ 3 in Electrical Installation will be achieved with the above award, AM2 and site based assessment.
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Written exams and practical assessments.
