About the course
The Level 3 Diploma is a credit based, work-related course which is equivalent to two A levels. The course follows on from the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma and is studied over one academic year. It covers units of study to the value of credits, of which are taught within the Subsidiary Diploma. Students will have to successfully complete six core units including a double weighted Engineering Project and predetermined optional units to the value of credits from the list below which, represent a vocational area of study.

Informal interview with the tutor at one of our part time enrolment sessions – students must have successfully completed the Level Three Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering in line with the entry criteria.

Successful students will be awarded an overall grade based on point boundaries. The units are internally assessed and externally moderated. The units will be graded and an overall grade for the whole qualification will be awarded. Materials, Books, Equipment Needed Course books and reading will be recommended during the induction process. For workshop activities, overalls, safety shoes and safety glasses are essential. On completion Students will leave the college with a broad portfolio of qualifications that will enable progression to work at technician/ advanced modern apprenticeship level, or to higher education.
