Level 3 Diploma In Engineering

Subjects covered Core units • Health & Safety in the Engineering Workplace • Communications for Engineering Technicians • Mathematics for Engineering Technicians • Engineering Project • Electrical & Electronic Principles • Mechanical Principles & Applications Optional units may include the following: • Applications of Computer Numerical Control in Engineering • Computer Aided Drafting • Engineering Design • Microprocessor Systems & Applications • Properties & Applications of Engineering Materials • Fabrication Processes & Technology • Electronic Fault Finding Assessment All units are internally assessed using a strict set of grading criteria and a summative unit grade awarded at pass, merit or distinction. Successful students will be awarded an overall grade based on point boundaries. The units are internally assessed and externally moderated. The units will be graded and an overall grade for the whole qualification will be awarded. Materials, Books, Equipment Needed Course books and reading will be recommended during the induction process. For workshop activities, overalls, safety shoes and safety glasses are essential. On completion Students will leave the college with a broad portfolio of qualifications that will enable progression to work at technician/ advanced modern apprenticeship level, or to higher education.
