Body Massage and Anatomy and Physiology qualification VTCT/ITEC or equivalent.
Description
This specialised course is designed to enable students to administer thermal and electrical equipment to clients with sports related activity injuries.

It builds on topics covered by BCOT`S existing sports massage qualification, but provides detailed instructions as to how specialised equipment can be used in the clinical environment to assist in the management of activity injuries. This course is recommended for those who wish to expand their knowledge and experience in the sports therapy arena.
Course Content
Additional anatomy and physiology relating to sports injuries
Strapping and taping of injured limbs
Use of electrical equipment such as infra-red, audio sonic
Use of thermal based therapies ie ice and heat
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Assignment based assessments, case studies, continuous practical assessment in the clinic, progression onto paying clients, externally set exam for health and safety (VR2/74).
