If you’re interested in live theatre, not as a performer, but as the person who ‘makes it all work’, then a Production Arts qualification could be the right stepping stone to a career in stage management, technical operations or a range of other back stage roles. You will already have some experience of performing a technical theatre role, either through your involvement with school shows, or through work experience, or through other youth theatre company involvement. As a student on this two year course, you will develop technical theatre skills and knowledge in both theory and practice by working to professional standards in the College’s fully equipped theatre. You will have plenty of opportunities to apply your understanding to College productions. Numeracy is particularly important for Production Arts and if you do not have a C or above at GCSE Maths, you will be expected to reach Level 2 in Maths Functional Skill.
