Course programme

This certificate provides individuals with an awareness of the skills and techniques required for effective supervision of staff. It provides an introduction to first line management and gives those new to the role the skills and knowledge to make an immediate and positive impact within their job.

The certificate has been developed to improve performance and give individuals the confidence to use their newfound skills to tackle motivation, coping with organisational change, team building and other issues that are associated with a supervisory or management role.

All individuals who successfully complete the course will receive a professionally recognised qualification.

The Certificate can provide credit against the full Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management as well as providing the specific knowledge and skills for those working towards Level 3 NVQ in Management.

Programme Structure

The programme is structured over six days, 1 day per week for six weeks. However, for those who wish to take a more considered approach, flexible programmes are available which are tailored to meet individual or organisational requirements.

Candidates are also given a work related project as part of the programme to give them an appreciation of how to apply their newfound skills within the workplace. In addition, the opportunity to meet other candidates at a similar level helps to build individual confidence through the exchange of ideas and shared experiences.
