Level 3 I-media

I-media
This is a level 3 qualification for people with enthusiasm and a desire to develop some expertise in interactive media.

What Will I Learn On This Course?

Four units are offered:

- Digital Graphics (Using Paint Shop Pro / Fireworks)

- Web Authoring (using Dreamweaver)

- Interactive Multimedia Design (using Flash)

- Game Design (Using Game Maker and Graphic Art Packages)

Each of the units involves the development of skills, followed by an assignment to meet a user's needs. Whilst developing program-based skills, students also produce professional quality products that resemble tasks set in the real world.

Course Content And Method Of Assessment

Students can either study for one unit or study three units, which is equivalent to an AS level.

I-media is an e-portfolio only qualification.

After The Course

This qualification has been designed to help provide a route into the wide range of job roles available within the dynamic interactive media industry.

Subject Combinations

The majority of students studying on this course are A2 students, who wish to enhance their careers opportunities. It combines particularly well with ICT, Computing and Media courses.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal qualifications, but students should have a basic knowledge of IT and an interest in developing these skills further.
