About this course

Must have completed an NVQ 2 in Beauty or equivalent, 5 GCSE's including English. Although there will not be an interview, you will need to achieve Level 2 in an Initial Assessment. FL3

What is the course about?
The following course can be studied part-time, to enable students to gain a recognised qualification and work in the industry.
The medical profession is increasingly willing to recognise the real benefits of complementary therapies. This course will appeal to: Beauty therapists, members of the caring professions e.g. nurses, medical auxillaries, practitioners in complementary therapies, members of the health and leisure industries.

What are the course outcomes?
This is a modular course covering the following:-
·The systems of the body: Muscular, neurological, skeletal, vascular lymphatic, digestive, genito-urinary, respiratory and endocrine.
·Structures and functions of skin types
·Cells and Tissues

How will you be assessed?
A range of assessment methods will be used including:
Observation of practical skills - Oral questioning and written evidence, plus an external paper. Continual assessment is carried out by an VTCT Assessor/Tutor. For assessment purposes at least

80% attendance is required.
