What qualifications do I need to study the course?
You will need at least 5 grades C at GCSE or equivalent

What will I study?
Areas of study currently include:
· The family and households.
· Beliefs in society.
· Crime and deviance-methods and theory.
You'll also look at questions such as Why is the divorce rate in Britain the highest in Europe? and Why are girls more successful in the education system? If you have an interest in current affairs, enjoying looking at issues from different perspectives and want to be involved in a variety of discussions - this is definitely the course for you.

Sociology is useful in a variety of applications and can lead you into many varied careers. Many of our students go on to study a wide range of University courses before moving into careers in areas such as Law, Medicine, Teaching, Social work and journalism.
