Introduction:
This unique qualification bridges the gap between level 3 vocational provision and Higher Education programmes and/or professional training. It has been designed specifically for learners who have already proven their expertise at level 3 through vocational courses or work and who now wish to develop the specific study skills needed to manage the demands of degree level programmes; enabling them to maximise their chances of success.

It focuses on self-directed study, research and analysis, logical reasoning and structured reflection, reading critically, essay-writing, presentation skills and approaches to collaborative working.

Study Mode & Location:
The duration of this course is 12 weeks for four hours per week in the evenings at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincents Road, Preston, PR2 8UR. Start dates are June/September & January.

Course Content:
The units you will study are as follows:

• Study Research & Analysis
• Interpersonal Communication & Presentation skills
• Reflective learning & critical thinking.

Assessment:
Students will undertake a research project which will be assessed and graded. There will be no examinations.

This course is suitable for those who are seeking to embark on Level 4 studies such as Higher Professional Diplomas, Foundation Degrees and Degree study.

You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
