Course programme

Course day: Tuessday

Course Time: 16.30 - 21.15

Entry Requirements:

Candidates must have acquired both CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, or their APL and/or APEL equivalents. Diploma level 4 is a two year course consisting of 210 GLH per year.

This qualification is intended for candidates who want to train to become a counsellor working in a counselling service agency. There are many different agencies and many types of associated counselling services but all agencies should provide the trainee with a service framework that includes both a line manager and clinical supervision. Successful completion of this course means that the trainees will be able to provide a therapeutic counselling service – initially within the context of an agency’s service framework but later (with experience and support from the supervisor, or by completing CBT-L5 or its equivalent) they may progress to independent practice.

On successful completion candidates will be eligible for interview for CBT - L5
