Course review:

The QCF (NVQ) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care and Children and Young People is a competence based qualification. There are three pathways within this qualification. These are Children's Residential Care, Children's Management and Childrens Advance Management pathways. The learner will select the pathway appropriate to their particular service delivery.

This qualification is aimed at managers and senior practitioners working in children and young people's services. Candidates should have ideally obtained a Level 3 qualification in a related area before studying this award. However, this qualification can be accessed by people without such qualifications who have significant vocational experience ideally in a supervision or management role.

This is a nationally recoginsed qulifiacation that replaces the NVQ level 4 in health and social care and the Registered Managers Award (RMA).

This qualification can lead to progression at Levels 6 or 7 of the relevant vocational area

This qualification is made of at least 11 mandatory units and a choice of optional units. To achieve the award, the candidate must achieve a minimum of 80 credits.
