Economics is a social science that studies how society is co-ordinated through the operation of markets. Economists study how markets operate and why they sometimes fail. Economists advise companies on competitive strategies and governments on how best to regulate market activities.
Economics is highly regarded by both employers and universities as it develops key skills of numeracy, communication, and problem solving. Economics combines well with a wide range of other A Levels, especially Business Studies, Accounting and Law. It is a useful preparation for anyone considering a management career or for those who simply want a better understanding of society.
The study of this subject will also be supported by Information Technology Key Skill lectures as an integral part of our A Level programme.
