If you're interested in the past, are keen to know how the present is shaped and what the future might hold in store, then History is the subject for you. At Coulsdon College, we look at the past with fresh eyes. Your ideas, your opinions and your views will be asked for as we come to judge how and why events in history happened. We look at a variety of interesting topics such as Stalin's Russia, Civil Rights in the USA, how our democratic rights were won and the devastating impact of the Nazi dictatorship. If you think the past is important then History's where it's at.

Qualification explained
A-Level courses are divided into two parts. In the first year you will study two units of a subject leading to an AS (Advanced Subsidiary) qualification. In the second year, you can take a further two units at A2 in the same subject to gain a full A Level. (In some subjects, the courses are divided into 3 rather than 2 units at AS and A2.)
