Year one:

• style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Lancastrians and Tudors 1455/1509

Year two:

• style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">100 years of Riots and Rebellions 1485/1603
• style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Bismarck and the years 1815 to 1871 research module

Also, a piece of research by the students alongside the module 5 unit.

Course Content : AS Level

• style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Hitler and his reign in power and the years of democracy after the second world war
• style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Edwards reign is looked at in onwards and Richard III leading on to all of Henrys' VII reign and achievements.

Course Content : A2 Level

• style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">We look at the whole of the Tudor reign and all the rebellions that take place under the Kings and Queens one hundred years of history.

a. This module is on 1815 to 1871 and the German unification

b. This is research undertaken by the students themselves.

Method of Assessment

Year one:

Exam in January - 1 ½ hours

Exam in June - 1 ½ hours

Year two:

Exam in January - 2 hours

Exam in May/June with two exams each 2 hours

Progression
Students may use this A Level to progress onto a wide range of University courses, including both history-related courses and more general courses including Journalism, Economics and Law.
