About this course
Minimum of 5 GCSE at A* -C in relevant subjects, a grade C in Mathematics is essential. A grade C in GCSE English is compulsory.

What will I be doing?
You will learn about Data and information, and the need for their organisation and manipulation to facilitate effective use. You will learn how to use ICT for a range of purposes; social, cultural, legal, technical, ethical, economic and environmental. Learners will consider the use of ICT for individuals, organisations and society. You will learn the use of ICT systems (including hardware, software and communication); the development of high-quality ICT-related solutions to problems; emerging technologies and ICT.
You will Investigate and analyse problems and produce a specification; design effective solutions; select and use appropriate application software; test and implement an effective ICT-related system; document specifications and solutions; evaluate solutions and their own performance.
The AS level, will focus on practical problem solving in the digital world and living in the digital world. The A2 will explore the use of ICT in the digital world and practical coursework involving the use of ICT in the digital world.
How will I be assessed?
Learners will be assessed through coursework, regular tests and a formal end of unit written exam set by the exam board in January and June.
Where can I go after completing this course?
At the end of the course students can go on to University to do a range of ICT related courses, or into employment where ICT are used in society and business.
