2 exams one of which is based on coursework. Both are worth 25% of the total A level, or 50% of the AS level.

What kind of student is this course suitable for?
This course requires the ability to think clearly and analytically and to present ideas in an orderly manner. For this a good command of English is necessary. Carrying out project work requires perseverance and organisational skills.

You do not need to have studied the subject before starting the course, but you should be sure you enjoy using computers. You will need to be interested in learning the advanced features of software packages and in investigating how information is handled in business and industry. Use of the internet for research is a key element. You should realise that no programming is involved in the project work for IT.

What could I do with a qualification in this subject?
In previous years the vast majority of our students have progressed to university. Some have taken IT, but others have taken courses such as business or design.
