What will I be doing?
You will study the media industries and its relationship to the media we consume as an audience. Textual analysis of media products is an important skill developed throughout the course along with the basic production skills. Students will write essays, present seminars on media related topics which will develop research skills. The course will also be supported by educational visits.
How will they be assessed?
You will be assessed by a mixture of coursework, practical work and external examinations.
Where can I go after completing this course?
After successfully completion of the AS Media Studies course students can progress onto the A level in Media Studies. The course provides opportunity for the development of independent critical thinking and analysis and, therefore, complements many other career choices and combinations of A Level study.
