Our new range of liberal studies degrees provides  a true US-style liberal arts education, a first in the UK. You choose a ‘major’ subject area whilst taking a range of ‘electives’ to tailor your degree to match your passions and interests. Every module in our liberal studies programme has been specifically designed for the degree, delivering you a broad-based education which engages you in critical and interdisciplinary thinking. Liberal arts graduates are well-prepared to make the most of opportunities in a fast-moving global economy. This major combines theory with practice, providing you with the knowledge and skills a journalist needs to thrive in today’s multiplatform, globalised, 24/7 media world. You will critically examine the role of journalism and practice of journalists in contemporary society. The major also provides hands-on experience in a newsroom environment, enabling you to develop your reporting and production skills on multiple platforms.
