This is comprehensive introduction to professional life coaching. It is ideal for students considering a career in this area, who have no previous experience in coaching or related areas.

A life coach works with individuals to help them reassess their current lifestyle and make changes, identify life goals, and move towards greater fulfillment at work and in their personal life. Coaching has been defined as 'the systematic application of behavioural science to the enhancement of life experience, work performance and wellbeing for individuals, groups or organisations who do not have clinically significant mental health issues or abnormal levels of distress'. (Australian Psychological Society, 2007)

The course includes course book The Coaching Manual as well as all required study materials and full tutorial support.

Study topics include: becoming a coach - values, beliefs and approaches; core skills; communcation skills and coaching; the coaching process - defining a clear path; building an effective coach-client relationship; ethics and coaching; planning a coaching assignment; goal setting and motivation; the importance of coach self-awareness.
