Lighting Training Course

A practical hands on introduction to unleashing your creative lighting skills. This workshop will encourage you to learn and develop your own style and approach to lighting for film and television.

Starting from basics, we will look at the role of the Key, Fill and Backlight. These are the building blocks of all lighting plots for film and TV.

You will also be given the opportunity to use your imagination to create special effects such as lightning, water and candlelight effects, as well as classic portrait lighting. You will also learn how to shape and control light and learn how to use shadow to add shape and texture

Whatever the scene, it’s the human face that is the common subject on film and tv. Learn how to light the human face well and you will be able to light almost any situation well.

We will also look at the art of using light and shade to convey day or night and to create realistic effects while still having enough level of light to shoot good pictures. You will experiment with reflectors and look at different techniques used to suggest darkness while providing interesting lighting for the scene.
