Course programme

This practical Lingerie course will instruct you in the processes of constructing several styles of lingerie: a brief, a French knicker, a camisole, and a basque. Each day you will focus on one of these styles. The tutor, a Lingerie industry expert, will guide you in making each garment, from start to finish. You will finish the course with a completed garment and pattern for each style of lingerie. All garments will be made in size 12.

This course includes:

  • Discussion of suitable lingerie fabrics and fabric compositions
  • Trimmings and components
  • Demonstration of Lockstitch, zigzag, bartack, rolled hem and overlock machines
  • Bias cutting and straight grain
  • Seam allowances for lingerie, & pattern markings.

This course does not include pattern cutting or grading to other sizes.

Level:

Intermediate to advanced. You should be a regular sewer and have good pattern cutting skills. This course is not suitable for beginners.

Booking:

Your course place is confirmed once you have booked online or via the phone using a credit or debit card. There is no deadline for booking. Places are offered on a first come, first served basis, and all courses have a maximum number of students. We suggest you book early to avoid disappointment.
