Linocut Workshop - Markmaking for All

Linocut Workshop (Mark-making for All) The Electric Theatre, Guildford. Saturday 3rd November 2012, 1-5pm.

This afternoon printmaking workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn all about mark-making in linocut. We will experiment with creating different marks in the lino block by using different cutting tools such as gouges and v-tools. We will also look at image interpretation, creating textures and creative ink effects. By the end of the day each person will have printed several small images and have a collection of samplers and tester prints as a reference for more complex works. All methods can be simply reproduced at home after the course has finished. A good fun and experimental day, suitable for beginners or more experienced printmakers.

No previous experience of printmaking is necessary – just bring along a few A6 sized photographs or images (e.g. magazine cut-outs) to work with and we will help you do the rest. Materials provided.
